1.Introduction:
– Checkpoint firewall devices for small and medium-sized businesses have outstanding performance, fully integrated with features such as firewall, VPN, Anti Virus, Application Control, URL Filtering, Email Security and SandBlast protection. against new threats. All are compiled into a compact device with simple configuration and management.
2. Initial configuration on the device:
– Use a web browser and access the address or
– Board First Time Configuration Wizard will appear, select Next to continue.
– In Authentication Details Set up an administrator account for the device, install according to your needs, then select Next.
– In Appliance Date and Time Settings Configure the date and time manually for the device or use the Network Time Protocol option. Select Next to continue.
– In Appliance Nameset a name to identify the device and enter the domain name (optional).
– In Security Policy Managementchoose how to manage the device.
- Central management : Use Security Management Server to manage Security Gateway devices and configurations through Smart Console.
- Local management : Manage and configure devices via web browser.
– We will select Local management, select Next to continue.
– In Internet Connectionestablish an internet connection.
– Select Configure Internet connection now and select type Connection type (Static, DHCP, PPPoE…) according to your needs.
– To check the connection status of the internet select Connectthe device will check the connection and display Success or Failure status at the bottom of the page.
– At page Local Networkallows you to optionally enable or disable switch on LAN ports and configure Network information.
- Enable switch on LAN ports : A group of Lan ports acts as a switch with one IP address. If you choose disable, the local network will only be on port Lan 1.
– Configure Network information (IP address, subnet mask, DHCP setting) according to your needs. Select Next to continue.
– At page Wireless Network (only available on Wireless-enabled devices).
– Select Configure wireless network now and configure Networkname(SSID) and Password according to your needs.
– At page Administrator Accessallows configuration of the source and IP address that the administrator is allowed to access the device.
– At page Application Registrationselect Activate License to activate the license if available. If not, select Next, a message will appear, select Ok, the device will activate the 30-day trial license.
– At page Software Blade Activationselect Software Blades enabled on the device.
– Board Summary A summary of the above configurations appears, select finish to complete First Time Configuration Wizard.
