– Capture ATP helps Sonicwall firewall Determine whether a file is a virus or not by sending the file to the SonicWall Capture ATP cloud service, the file will be analyzed to see if it is a virus and then send the results to the Sonicwall firewall. This process takes place in real time while the file is being processed at the Sonicwall firewall. Capture ATP uses the UFTP (User Datagram Protocol File Transfer Protocol) protocol to transfer files.SonicWall Capture ATP is only available on SonicOS 6.2.6.x and above.
– From the SonicWall interface go to Monitor – System Status to view status Security Services license.
– In the example picture, Capture ATP is in state “Not Licensed”.
– Go Manage – Licenses and at section Manage Security Services Online.
– Click to select “from here” You will be taken to the Sonicwall account login page, log in to your account.
– Next you can “Active” or choose “Try” to activate Capture Advanced Threat Protection Free Trial.
– After activation, at System – status you will see Capture ATP in status Licensed.
– Now you can enable Capture ATP Service, go to Manage – Security Services – Capture ATP – Settings.
– Section Basic Setup Checklistclick to select “manage settings”will take you to the page Security Services – Gateway Anti-Virus.
– Select “Enable Gateway Anti-Virus” and “Enable Cloud Anti-Virus Database”then select Accept.
– Next return to the Capture ATP page, at section “Capture ATP subscription”click to select “enable it”
– Then check that the Capture ATP status has turned green.
