– From the SonicWall interface select Managemove to Network – Failover & Load Balancing.
– Select Enable Load Balancingand select Configure next to Default LB Group. In this window you can add Wan interface for LB Group and configure 4 types of Wan Failover and Load Balancing.
- Basic Failover : Check status on all Wan interfaces, but all traffic will go through the primary Wan interface, if the primary Wan interface is down, traffic will go through the secondary interface.
- Round Robin : Traffic will be divided equally among the Wan interfaces.
- Spill-over : Traffic will go through the main Wan interface. If it exceeds the bandwidth threshold set on the main Wan interface, traffic will go through the secondary interface.
- Ratio : Traffic passes through each Wan interface based on a configured percentage.
– Select the Load Balancing type you want, then select the Wan interface to add to the group, the interface at the top of the list is the main interface.
– Depending on the type of Load Balancing you have chosen, you will configure the corresponding parameters (eg: choosing Spill-over, you must configure the bandwidth threshold for the main Wan interface, and if you choose Ratio, you must configure the percentage of traffic for each interface).
– Probing configuration: Used to check the status of Wan interfaces, including the following parameters
- Check Interface every : Interface status check frequency, default is 5s.
- Deactivate Interface after : The number of failed interface status checks before putting the interface into the Failover state.
- Reactivate Interface after : The number of times the interface status is successfully checked before putting the interface into the Available state.
-Then select OK to save. So you have finished configuring Failover & Load Balancing above SonicWall firewall deviceselect Accept to save the configuration.
