This article will guide you to add the TP-Link Omada Router device to the Omada SDN Controller in case the Controller device is not located in the same local area as your Router device.
– First, make sure the Omada SDN Controller device on the site has been NATed to the corresponding ports (UDP 29810 & TCP 29811-29814).
– Access the Router device in stand alone mode using the default IP 192.168.0.1 with username/password of admin/adminwhen logging in for the first time, the device will ask you to change your username/password.
– After logging in go to Network -> Wanat the WAN mode tab you will be able to set the number of Wan ports you want, continue to select the WAN tab to configure the internet connection according to your needs and ensure the device can connect to the internet.
– If you want to change the LAN network layer, go to it Network -> LAN or you can change the configuration on the Omada SDN Controller after adding the device.
– Go System Tools -> Controller Settingsselect Enable Cloud-Based Controller Management -> Save and at Inform URL/IP Address Enter the Wan IP address of the Site containing the Controller -> Save.
– On Controller go to item Deviceyou will now see the state the Router is in Pendingselect Adopt device, wait a while and you will see an error message “Failed to adopt the device because the username or password is incorrect”click select Retry and enter the username/password you changed in the step above.
– Now the device will be added to the Controller and in state Connectedyou can now configure the Router device through the Controller.
